Basic jewellery rule says “If you don’t display it, you don’t wear it”. I didn’t wear necklaces and watches for years because they were hidden in a box. Not just hidden, they were entangled, scratched. Let’s call it indecent storage for art. I decided to make it up for my jewels and give them a chance to shine on a crown, as they deserve.
We have a decent alcohol collection at home and I picked a heavy beautiful bottle as a base. The crown was planned to sit on the top. The color of the crown was chosen to match the alcohol inside.
The crown was designed in Solidworks, 3D-printed in PLA on Snapmaker 2.0, it took ~ 10 hours.
I am very pleased with the final result. The bottle could be a little bit higher, but it’s very stable and the necklaces are easy to access. Moreover, if we feel like having a shot of rakomelo (sweet Greek liquor), it’s easy to take everything off! What’s next for my watches?
